EasyHotspot Problem

Sorry for the delay .. the bad news is im facing hardware and internet connection problem, but the good news is the project is done. EasyHotspot is ready for beta release … but how to upload the 574 MB iso to the intenet with 8kbps connection speed ? its been 48 hrs trying with no luck ??

If iso image is to large, i decide to make a .deb file, i’ll upload it tomorrow night …

  4. Why u were not uploaded the php application itself, it would be better instead you have to upload the entire development files.(LAMP+radius+distro),i suppose it’s very reasonable since we don’t waste our time to upload the big size files.

    Why that iso ? because i want to learn how to make a specific distro that would help somebody outhere ;)

  6. I downloaded the iso file and after i run the “check” command it displays a “1 file error” message. I have already downloaded twice on separate machines but still have the same problem. Does anyone else encounter this problem?.

  7. the other downloaders says ok and i’ve test it before … may be you should check your net connection.
    or ill try to macth the md5sum ..

  8. Help to understand please. Has install EasyHotspot. Has created users by means of Voucher Management. But at attempt to
    enter the system answers the wrong user or the password. In what a problem?

  9. @kit : did you pluged the right cable to the client ? Did you login trough the chillispot daemon ?

  10. Cable correct. From a client computer the form the password accepts the password of the manager and the cashier. Page loging for users and managers identical? What adjustments of a browser for the client?

  11. make sure you have 2 network interface on your server. eth0 for the internet and eth1 to the client.
    The default settings only allows admin/cashier to login from localhost (direct from server machine).
    Make sure you have dynamic network settings (dhcp) on your clients. And then simply browse to google or etc and then the login page is load automatically. the clients login page and easyhotspot manager login page is not same …
    keep post your problem (if still exist), i hope i could help you …

  12. My test configuration. A server: eth4-internet/eth3-local-dhcp ==== crossover cable ===== Client: (winXP) dhcp (192.168.182.2/255.255.255.0/sluice 192.168.182.1)
    Redirect in a browser does not occur. If in a browser to establish – to use a proxy a server 192.168.182.1. Then occurs redirect on page easyhotspot manager login page (admin/cashier)

  17. kit,, i have the same problem, the question is , how to change the interfaces from eth3&eth4 to eth0&eth1. I already try with add file 10-ethernet.rules from /etc/udev/rules.d with this configuration KERNEL==”eth3″, SYSFS{address}==”00:0e:a6:2e:ff:90″, NAME=”eth0″ but still not solve the problem. The interfaces still recognise as eth3&eth4. Does anyone have the same problem???

  18. @Naufal : you can try to changed eth3&eth4 to eth0&eth1 (vice versa) in /etc/udev/rules.d/70-persistent-net.rules
    example :

  21. I get another problem. Why I can’t edit all file in system even I as root. Can you tell me how to edit the name of eth, because the file is read only. Thanks

  24. At least I can edit it but at windows with 3rd application. The software work fine. But when I try connect as client hotspot w/my notebook and try to get connection with computer at internal network (IP range eth0) with kaht it connect and I can get in to other computer. Please an advice how to secure my internal network? Thanks

  27. after 2 month iam runing easyhotspot for a limited areas such a room or cafe theres nothing gone wrong. For maintain wide area coverage, i switch eth1 using a hub. One for AP to cover cafe area (indoor) and another port for AP with outdoor antena. After that all the system is running well. Then I notice a problem when user told me that they can login into the hotspot using only one userid/voucher for 2 device in the same time. Wich mean the authentication not working properly.

    Iam using : Lynksys WAP54G for Cafe and Dlink DWL-G700AP with outdoor antena

    how to fix this problem?

  30. Itu bukan bug … secara default memang gitu .. nanti rencananya mau dibuat simultaneous use atau tidak ..
    coba baca2 attribute di freeradius.org tentang simultaneous use ..

  31. mau tanya juga donk, saya dah berkali2 install easyhotspot, mulai dari pakai konfigurasi default sampai ganti2 versi chillispot & freeradius, setelah dicoba jika yg connect hanya 1 user itu egk ada masalah, tapi kalo ada beberapa user yg connect selalu salah satu user jadi ip conflict. Tolong dibantu solusinya kira2 gmn?

  32. pastikan yang client nya itu connect dari interface eth1 bukan eth0 ..
    kalau anda menggunakan AP harap dimatikan fitur DHCP yang ada pada AP anda

    I am quite impressed with your software. Man, it is great. I am an IT professional who lives and works in Nigeria – West Africa. I came upon it while I was rummaging through sourceforge.net. Downloaded, installed and ran it. Great stuff!!!
    I have read the documentation and have been following your blog. I think I have solved the simultaneous login problem. Will test it and get back to you.
    However, check this out, I created a new admin account in easyhotspot but I can’t remember the password. Hence, I am locked out of the system. What can I do to regain my password?

    Please send the info direct to my mail box so that the issue of security is not undermined.

    I downloaded ehdb-01.iso. Burned a CD and installed on a system with 2 NICS. eth0 goes to network eth1 goes to WAP. I see config screen but cannot authenticate. u:root p/easyhotspot and continue to get “invalid username or password” this is from the console of the host machine.
    Any suggestions you have would be greatly appreciated.

    • itu berarti tingga add sertifikat easy hotspotnya kan ada tuh linknya di add aj, terus di bikin permanen, biar nggak muncul lagi.

    Ok banget nih easyhotspot.
    Selain prepaid dan postpaid, bisakah ditambahkan menu lagi seperti model postpaid tetapi dengan beberapa poin:
    1. 1 user/password bisa untuk login 1 orang saja, 2 orang saja, dst..
    1. Bisa login berulang kali.
    2. Jika expired date & time, tidak bisa login lagi.
    3. Ada isian tarif.
    4. Ada bandwith management

    Kasus:
    Pelanggan ingin sewa ruangan rapat selama 5 jam untuk beberapa orang
    dan butuh koneksi internet. Kebutuhan bandwithnya adalah 512 kbps. Harga yg disepakati untuk internet adalah 200 ribu untuk 5 user misalnya.

    Sekali lagi salut untuk easyhotspot.

    Saya menemukan bug di easyhotspot..jika di ping dari klien hotspot ke server easyhotspot maka balasan akan 2 x tereply..dan muncul pesan DUP!
    Bukannya hal ini secara teori akan mengurangi kecepatan akses data sampai setengahnya ya?
    Mohon bantuannya untuk memperbaikinya..

    • try using sudo command
      sudo mousepad /path/to/your/file

    • hmm bisa aja sih, tapi harus banyak melakukan modifikasi kalo udah mau integrasi gitu mas. tidak ada cara yang sama persis untuk kasus custom seperti itu.
      tapi secara umum, table radius dan table database local harus connect. atau kalau punya LDAP bisa di integrasikan.

      1. my bad, but its fixed in 0.2 version .. im uploading it but no luck .. but dont worry ill try again. please do research about Simultaneous-Use its freeradius attribute that allow you to define how many users can connect at the same time with the same ticket.

  51. Mas rafeequl aku dah coba install EasyHotspot anda tapi nga tau kenapa nga bisa…??? saat ku booting dari cd trus aku biarkan saja sampai EasyHotspot-nya Loading…. Hanya nga tau kenapa klo sampai VMLinux itu kompinya reboot trus aku sudah coba berulang kali tapi tetap saja nga mau…!!! Aku pake PC Built-UP pentium III Ram 256 MB mereknya compaq…

    a Couple of questions

    1) MySQL password, i have tried toor/easyhotspot and installation password user/pass and both do not work.

    2) Suggestion of letting people create their own interface, or change the css. it seems the user mangement is a mix of open source products and not that straight forward (maybe I’m wrong) Freak_Auth etc…

    Congrats on a great product! I have yet to see anything as easy to set up as this… Keep up the good work. I would love to see more customisability though :) (the easy way :p).

  54. For those with tthe same MySQL question as above I finally worked it out (hits head).

    user = easyhotspot
    password = easyhotspot.

    i.e run the following command:
    mysql –user=easyhotspot –password=easyhotspot
