Happy New Year 2011 guys and im so grateful Next year i’m getting married! It’s just two weeks left

Flash back sedikit : saya bertemu dengan Vina kira2 tahun 1998, she is my childhood friend in junior high school. Ketemu lagi waktu sama-sama kuliah. Pacaran cukup lama kurang lebih 4 tahun, dan alhamdulillah sekarang akan menikah.

Rencananya akad nikah akan di selenggarakan pada ;
January 8 2011 di Masjid As Salam STEKPI Jakarta

Tinggal beberapa hari sebelum hari H, rasanya campur-campur . Mudah-mudahan acaranya lancar tanpa ada halangan. Dan yang paling penting kami mohon doanya dari rekan sekalian.

The future of EasyHotspot

Its been years since i first released EasyHotspot to the community. Developing EasyHotspot is so demanding, it needs a lot of effort and is very time consuming. But i think it has paid off because of the users satisfaction, but the important thing is I’m really happy that finally I’ve made something that is useful for someone else out there. However, i admit that EasyHotspot is not prefect yet (and maybe never will be), but one thing for sure is that EasyHotspot team and its community will make it better and better. We also thank all the the contributors who are willing to donate, patch, translate, and participate for us,, it means a lot for the rest of us! Thank you very much!

So what next ?

As you may already know, EasyHotspot developer is not only me anymore, theres Pandu and Dhika join in. EasyHotspot team + Community = awesomeness.
We’re starting to develop the new version of EasyHotspot, i hope in this release we will encounter all remain bugs on the last EasyHotspot release
We might also want to introduce you a Hosted Service solution for your hotspot business. We can call that EasyHotspot nano. All you need is one wifi router only, and we take care of all hotspot calculation stuff. The good news is that we’re near completion with this project so hang on tight and watch out for the news..
EasyHotspot will remain free, open and HOT

So that is a glance of the future of EasyHotspot.. BUT, we really need your input, please take one-three minutes to give us your input.

Setup ubuntu LAMP server

I have little tips for those who want to install lamp stack on their ubuntu development machine ..
Make sure you update your repository :
sudo apt-get update
And then lets do the magic part :
sudo apt-get install mysql-server phpmyadmin

Thats it .. since phpmyadmin depends on apache2, php, and mysql, ubuntu will take care of this depedencies.
Now you have lamp stack + phpmyadmin.

Additional steps, if you want to
enable userdir module
sudo a2enmod userdir
sudo apache2ctl restart # restart apache
Now your users can put their website in ~/public_html and access them via http://localhost/~username

enable mod_rewrite
sudo a2enmod rewrite
sudo apache2ctl restart # restart apache

How to update EasyHotspot

EasyHospot 0.2 comes with git repository, which means it gives us an easy way to update the code. This is how to update your current installation with the lastest release :

Go to EasyHotspot directory

cd /opt/local/web/easyhotspot
git pull

Pull new patches

Its very handy if you we want to update (bug fixes/ new features).

Selamat (menjelang) tahun baru semuanya semoga di tahun 2010 bisa lebih baik dari tahun yang akan segera usai ini.
Seperti tahun-tahun yang telah lalu, diakhir tahun biasanya saya suka “retrofication”, mengingat kembali apa saja yang sudah berhasil dan belum berhasil dicapai. Tidak lupa juga diakhiri dengan list target yang diharapkan di tahun yang akan datang. Tanpa panjang2 ini dia ringkasannya :

Ok ditahun 2009 ini banyak sekali achievement yang saya dapat, baik materi, non materi, skill, awards, karir etc ..

Karir

Sebenernya saya mulai bekerja di PT. SkyEight Indonesia itu pada bulan Agustus 2008 dengan posisi sbg web developer. Pada saat itu skill yang relevan yang saya punya adalah PHP/CSS XHTML, dan menariknya PHPnya tidak(blm) begitu diperlukan disana, hal ini dikarenakan kita memakai Rails. Framework “indah” dan tidak “menyakitkan” yang pernah saya gunakan. Beruntung sekali saya mempunyai latar belang CodeIgniter, jadi nggak terlalu keteteran untuk belajar Rails, terbukti dengan minimnya “sumpah serapah” waktu belajar ngoding dengan Rails.

Di SkyEight saya mengambil sedikit peran dalam pengembangan situs keren bernama KOPROL, situs social network aseli indonesia. KOPROL adalah layanan mikroblog location based dengan koten yang lokal sekali. Gampangnya dengan KOPROL kita bisa tau teman kita lagi pada dimana aja, dan di tempat itu ada siapa aja!
Dari KOPROL pengetahuan akan Rails, AJAX, dkk nya sedikit demi sedikit terasah, thanks to all Pak Bos di SkyEight yang sangat dengan sabar membimbing saya

YMDA 2009 Winners

Yang ini paling nggak diduga – duga. Beberapa bulan yang lalu, Yahoo! mampir ke Jakarta untuk mengadakan event nasional yang bertajuk YMDA, Yahoo! Mobile Developer Awards, tujuan utamanya adalah memperkenalkan dan memasyarakatkan Yahoo! dan platform development kepada masyarakat Indonesia (baca: developer) dan juga mempertemukan para developer dan sponsors. Singkat kata, atas izin Allah SWT saya berhasil memenangkan award itu, Winner untuk sponsor ViVa News dan Best in Show.

Best of the best Presentation

Kalau diingat-ingat, waktu itu saya hampir nyerah atau paling tida, mau menyelesaikannya tapi sekenanya aja (asal aja), beruntung mantra “ini 3 minggu yang bisa merubah hidup gw!” cukup ampuh! mantra ajaib tersebut cukup berdasar, hanya 3 minggu saja waktu yang diberikan, tapi kalau menang, wow, hardwork paid off !!
